His legacy
Unke Evan is bowling!

On the morning of July 16, 2007, we had a thunderstorm.  There was lots of loud thunder and it was scaring Hopie.  Her Mommy told her that it was the angels bowling, so Unke Evan was bowling.  Hopie called me on the phone and told me Unke Evan bowling.  From this day on, whenever I hear it thunder, I will feel that Evan is letting me know that he's alright and having fun bowling in Heaven!

Evan and Hopie

On October 4, 2004 Evan became an uncle to Hopie Rae Laws.  Hopie is the daughter of his brother Brian and his wife April.  The day that Hopie was born, Evan headed to the hospital immediately when he got out of school.  He refused to hold her because she was so little that the thought of holding her scared him.  I made him sit down and I handed Hopie to him.  He was immediately very deeply in love.  Once he held her, if he was at the hospital, you had to fight to hold Hopie because Evan would immediately pick her up when he got there and he would hold her.  This did not change once she got home from the hospital.  He adored that little girl.  She turned 10 months old 2 days after his funeral.  She is now 2 and a half and a little stinker.  I'm sure that he is watching over her from heaven.  We also suspect that he is whispering ideas in her ear to keep her Mom & Dad on their toes!!!

The car
Evan loved cars.  In the spring of 2005, he got his car.  A 1999 Dodge Neon Sport.  It had belonged to his sister but she moved to Wisconsin and decided that an SUV would work better for her so she wanted Evan to have her car.  Evan loved cars and was going to go into car customization.  He decided to start on his own car.  I still have his car and will never get rid of it.
